Millions of tourists are attracted each year to the wonders Egypt has to offer. With its awe inspiring display of archeological wonders in Cairo and Luxor and its spectacular Red Sea beach resorts with crystal clear waters and amazing coral reefs, Egypt will be one of your favorites where you will be guaranteed to return. With warm temperatures all year round you can tailor your holiday to Egypt to include that much favored beach time in Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada or Taba Heights, to exploring the many temples, mosques, museums and great monuments of the Nile Valley, Cairo and Luxor.

Marvelous monuments are dotted everywhere in Egypt - the majestic temples and tombs Luxor has to offer and the Pyramids of Abu sir in Cairo are just a few of the wonders that thousands of visitors have admired on their holidays to Egypt. There are even fantastic Nile cruises and expeditions where you can view the breath taking desert landscapes, and villages lining the river’s edge. Guaranteed to be some of the most spectacular views (including parts of the Valley of the Kings) you will ever see.

For those really adventurous travelers, inland in Egypt, lies Sinai where you can discover ancient monasteries amongst the mountains and vast desert landscape. Aswan and Alexandria are also favorites on the list and definitely worth exploring when on holiday in Egypt. There are always direct flights available from the UK into Cairo, Luxor and Sharm El Sheikh and are approx 5 hrs in duration. Transfers are usually prearranged and we’ve got some great deals to ensure you get to your hotel promptly so you can start enjoying the sun, sand and wonders of Egypt. With so many things to do and discover, you really are spoilt for choice when on holiday in Egypt.

For those of you that are holidaying here for the first time, Cairo is an absolute must. With the famous Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx dominating the skyline to arranging a visit to the famous Cairo Museum of Antiquities where you can really get up close and personal with all the pharaoh’s treasures and even see Tutankhamen himself in the Egyptian Museum. The famous Coptic Museum is also well worth the visit, where you can see the world’s largest Coptic art collection.

Tour guides on organised excursions will show you around these sites, answering any questions you may have and providing real insight into Egypt’s great history. You even have the opportunity to venture into the Great Pyramids to explore the many walkways, tunnels and labyrinths. If you’re up for the challenge, try bargaining in Cairo’s famous Khan-el Khalili bazaar piled high with trinkets, perfumes and spices. The imposing Mosque of Sayyidna Al-Hussein is a wondrous site with its many surrounding markets and tea houses and can easily be explored on foot.

A visit to Egypt''''s largest camel market, Souq al-Gammal on the edge of the Western Desert, is a stark contrast to city life. The market is approx 20 miles drive from Cairo and like all Egyptian markets; it''''s not for the faint-hearted! Hundreds of camels are swapped here daily so you really have the chance to get into the hustle and bustle of it all. For a great shopping experience, Cairo offers the best in Souks and markets where you are sure to pick up a bargain or two. Make sure you stop off at Khan al Khalili where you will be surrounded by perfumes, silver, gold and various other treasures– you will leave a haggling expert!

Travel back in time with a visit to Luxor, ideally located on the banks of the River Nile. Luxor is a splendor in itself. Once the spectacular ancient city of Thebes, offerings include the breath taking Karnak and Luxor temples with their towering statues, not to mention the stunning views of the Nile which can be taken in by rides on the felucca boats. Other highlights include Luxor Museum, filled by relics from the Theban Temples, and the strange and mysterious Mummification Museum. Cross over to the West Bank and take in the wonders of the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the Tombs of the nobles. A recommended way of seeing them all is via a spectacular early morning hot air balloon ride which allows you to take in the stunning views at day break.

Nile cruises between Luxor and Aswan are a popular favorite and usually take 5 days. The views of the Aswan Dam are magnificent, bearing in mind that it powers the whole of Egypt. Whilst you’re there, North of Aswan is the famous “City of Gold” Kom Ombo which is a large Nubian settlement known for its Temple of Haroeris and Sobek. The corniche of Aswan and its many floating water restaurants will allow you to unwind and enjoy the beauty and magnificence that surrounds you. Egypt is also known for its Oases that stretch far and beyond the desert landscape. Dhakla even has its own hot springs so is well worth the visit. Siwa is considered the most remote and idyllic.

Take some time to explore the Red sea region, known for its splendid sand beaches, modern resorts and probably the most colorful and vibrant dive sites in the world with spectacular reefs and drop offs. Head to Sharm el Sheikh the action packed beach resort where there is a lot to keep the family occupied. Perfect for that short haul beach holiday, Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh offer the best in facilities, cuisine, entertainment and nightlife. El Gouna is also another beach resort located in this region that has much to offer. From here you can even go quad biking and camel riding in the Sinai and western deserts. An adventurous and relaxing holiday all wrapped in one with a little history sprinkled on top, what more could you ask for when on holiday in Egypt!

The weather in Egypt can be described as dry and hot. Although a fantastic place for all year round good weather and sunshine, June to August is when temperatures soar to a staggering 40C plus. These months are considered low season as the heat can be very intense. For those of you travelling with children, better times to travel are between September and February as the temperature is between 25-30C with gentle breezes in resort. The evenings are pleasantly warm and you’ll still be able to dine al fresco.

Being in the desert means that Egypt has very little if any rainfall throughout the year which is refreshing when you want to get away from the rain back in the UK. Please see out weather guide for a full review.
