Holidays to Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are hidden treasures off the west of Africa which have been drawing in British holiday makers for years in search of good weather, fantastic beaches and amazing landscapes. The Canary Islands offer a large range of natural and manmade attractions that attract millions of tourists each year. There are spectacular forests, volcanic craters, not to mention clear blue waters that are inviting all year round due to the mild climate the Canary Islands experience.

As a collective, the Canary Islands form an independent community of Spain. The quieter Islands la Palma, El Hierro and El Gomero really are a nature lover’s delight. Hiking trails are dotted all round these islands offering fantastic views of the coastline and the chance to get up close and personal with the Islands wildlife and vegetation.

For those looking for an action packed holiday the five main Islands to visit are Lanzarote, La Palma, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura. All are jam packed with fantastic resorts for families’ couples and groups, with splendid beaches, nightlife and entertainment for all.

Tenerife is by far the biggest and busiest island in the Canary Island Group. The hustle and bustle of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos resorts keep the holiday makers coming back time and time again. The resorts offer excellent deals from self catering apartments, right through to All Inclusive hotels with superb child facilities and entertainment, not to mention the unusual black sand beaches Tenerife is known for. Puerto de la Cruz offers some of the most stunning of them! A trip to the Islands former capital should not be missed; La Laguna has an air of traditional Canarian culture with its brightly colored buildings, narrow streets and amazing architecture.

Fuerteventura is famously known to have miles of stunning beaches stretching across its coastline attracting water sport enthusiasts and those British holiday makers looking for a slightly slower pace holiday full of relaxation. The beaches have been been compared to those of Hawaii…

Corralejo is definitely worth the trip, as the evenings play host to many bars and clubs around the Centro Commercial Atlantico. Its capital Puerto Del Rosario is also fantastic for nightlife after sundown.

Gran Canaria rivals Tenerife with its fantastic beach resorts; Playa Del Ingles is party heaven! Las Palmas the Islands capital is ideal for those culture lovers that like visiting museums, and art galleries.

Lanzarote offers stunning volcanic lava landscapes throughout the Island. The Parque Nacional de Timanfaya in the south of the Island is definitely worth visiting as you can really take in the wondrous sites. Puerto Del Carmen offers fantastic accommodation, entertainment and nightlife for holiday makers and really is the heart and soul of where the party is at on the Island. There are a wide selection of tapas bars, restaurants, bars and neon lit clubs to choose from. By day the atmosphere is more relaxed with holiday makers lying on the beach. Matagorda is a fantastic commercial centre with its own stretch of sandy beaches, bars and restaurants. It is not too far from Puerto Del Carmen either for those of you looking to hit the party scene. Costa Tequise and Playa Blanca also offer a great selection of beaches but are on the quieter side of the Island….really offering something for everyone!
